The Police Spokesperson Superintendent Lamin Njie, has confirmed that a nexus police investigation is underway to probe in detail into a reported armed robbery held around Sukuta on Saturday 20th February 2021.
According to reports, armed robbers allegedly attacked a vehicle carrying a staff of AMM Financial Service and Bureau De Change and burgled them of D6.5 million cash.
“We can confirm having a report of the said armed robbery and the police have instituted a joint panel of investigators looking into the matter and investigations are ongoing and also the Anti-crime unit of the police is equally tracking and following. The panel is working, so we hope soon they will be able to put something together that we can share with the public,” PRO Njie explained.
One of the staff of the Bureau De Change Modou Lamin Saho, said the hapless incident happened after working hours on Saturday while they were en route to escort the money to their CEO’s resident in Sukuta.
