One Bambo Darboe, a native of Niamina Kudang Village in Central River Region, was barbarically killed  by an unknown person by striking him with a cutlass. The body of the deceased was subsequently discovered in the early hours of Wednesday 24th February 2021 at the said village.

 Police PRO Superintendent Lamin Njie, confirmed the gruesome incident saying, “We can confirm the incident of suspected murder of 56-year-old Bambo Darboe at Niamina Kudang Village in the Central River Region. The body was discovered in the early hours of today Wednesday 24th February 2021.”

PRO Njie added that an investigation has been launched to dig into the issue surrounding the murder of Bambo darboe. “An Investigation has been immediately opened into the matter. Members of the public who wish to support the investigation by volunteering information on the condition of anonymity are encouraged to do so,”

The National Assembly Member for Niamina East Omar Ceesay, took to his personal Facebook condemning the devilish act, noting that it is getting out of hand and the people of Niamina and its surrounding are living in a state of dilemma and fear. He highlighted that this is the third person to suffer from similar assault in the region within a span of six months.

Honorable Ceesay seized the opportunity to call on the government and the Inspector General of Police in particular, to get the ball rolling and ensure the people responsible for the murder of these individuals are apprehended and brought before the law.
