The Gambia Football Federation first division league continued to gather momentum with week 22 draws to a close on Sunday.

 The weekend saw a staggering Twenty-One goals scored in 7 matches, averaging 3 goals per game. The league’s most inform side Wallidan thrash relegation threatened Tallinding United 4-1 on Thursday night at the independent stadium in Bakau.

 The win catapulted the Blue Boys to second on the table with 34 points, nine adrift of runaway leaders Fortune while Tallinding United are second from bottom with 20 points.

 Meanwhile Waa Banjul condemned basement side BK Milan to a 1 nil defeat in the later game. The City Boys are 7 position with 32 points while BK Milan remain bottom with 17 points. Five points from safety with just 4 games left.

 On Friday, Gamtel inflicted first defeat of the season on runaway leaders Fortune at the 8pm kickoff.Ebou Jarra’s side are now 11th place on 23 points while Jane Joof’s side despite the defeat are on course for their first ever league title with a 9 point lead.

 Meanwhile Gambia Ports Authority and Real De Banjul cancel each other out with a 1 all draw in the late game.Elsewhere on Saturday, Gambia Armed Forces continue their impressive run with a 2-1 win over Elite United at 8pm. GAF moved to 3rd on 33 points while Elite United dropped to 5th place on 32 points.

 Meanwhile Brikama United suffered their second defeat in a row, going down 4-2 to Hawks  in the late game. The win took Hawks to 10th on 24 points while the Sateyba Boys dropped to 6th place on 32 points.

 The final game was played on Sunday night with Banjul United recording their second consecutive win with a 2-1 win against Marimoo.The win sent Banjul United to 9 position on 26 points while Marimoo dropped to 12 position with 22 points, just 2 points above the red zone.
