All of a sudden Gambia’s finest athlete comes on the front pages of major GSM operators after setting a new national record of coming out 4th in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games women’s 200m semifinals.

 Gina Bass, a Gambian national service provider and athlete is suddenly being used by GSM operators to boost their business in the quest of maximising profit.

For many years Gina has been doing beautifully well for The Gambia around the world and none of these companies branded her as their ambassador but after she sets new national record by coming out fourth in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, she is being unprofessionally used as a passive partner by companies to beef up their markets.

 As many celebrate the young athlete for her outstanding role at the Tokyo games, these companies take it as an opportunity to manipulate the minds of people by posting her on their posters as a way of celebrating her but rather a marketing strategy in disguise.

The big question that has left many people in awe is;

Why now? Were these companies not aware of Miss Bass all these past years and the countless victories she made all over the world?

 Looking at other countries and how their national stars are being treated with first class treatment you will be left astonished because they are being given the best of everything even though it does not in any benefit these companies in, but they still deem it a community service responsibility to develop these stars in their respective domains since it’ll boost the name and economy of their countries.

 However, we remain patient and see what happens to Gina as she returns home after the Olympic Games. Will these companies officially sign her as their brand ambassador? Or will it remain a market provider for them as they only used her as a passive partner to make more profit.
