Bubacarr FM colley who was recently called to bar as Barrister and solicitor of the supreme court has on Tuesday filed his nomination documents to the independent Electoral commission in Brikama

Speaking to press upon following the protocols of IEC , Mr Colley said , the budget allocated for the youth is insufficient.

He emphasized that , “If you look at the budget allocated for the youths believe me it’s not sufficient in my view so if I make it to the parliament I will make that there is enough budget for youth and women”

FM Colley added that if you look at Kombo South it is like heaven in the Gambia because it is one of the richest constituencies in the Gambia as they are blessed with sand, marine resources and there are many youth who gain employment as a result of the marine resources and the sea at Kombo South.

“If our environmental laws are implemented or enforced believe me there will be opportunity for more job and employment for the youths, recently the women at Gunjur were asked to leave their gardens and we all know some of those gardens are mainly their source of income I will make sure that bigger gardens are created for women to fetch for their economic benefit” he said.

Mr. Colley said the message he has for his people at Kombo South constituency is to please forget about party politics and vote based on competence.

Meanwhile Salifu Jatta a youth in his tender age and a native of Gunjur Kunkujang village in Kombo south constituency said “We rallying behind Bubacarr Colley because he is a youth like us, if you look at the National Assembly Members we voted for, for the pass previous years they are old people and we believe that old people who have seen yesterday and today and is now going to the assembly with the youth towards tomorrow should be able to do something meaningful for us but it’s the other way”

Jatta added that what they expect from those old people that they voted for they have not seen because the area I am from. If I tell you that there is a structure that has been built by the government then I am lying because I have not seen it.

“The youth came out as the famous slogan read “who feels it knows it” so we have seen that Bubacarr colley is a youth like us so what we feeling he knows it and we believe that he will empower the youth and he has the knowledge and experience and he leant the laws and it is laws that are enacted at the national assembly. There are many things that when it comes to the law am with the belief that he (Bubacarr Colley) will take a step about it that is in accordance with the law” he stated.

He continued that If you look at the village he is from (Gunjur Kunkujang) especially road is a big challenge as well as electricity and road goes with electricity and that water is a big struggle for us it is the white people that donates us our community instead of our government helping us but when it comes to paying taxes our constituency is not behind. While adding that since there is a road that stops at jamba jelly and that the same road stretches to berending and katong I believe that if that road crosses to Kunkujang youths will be able to help themselves.

Jatta went on to say that They (the youth) are afraid to set a business there because of the bad condition of the road and that they believe that Bubacarr Colley will help them with that and will empower youths to see that they have something to hold, and he will help us with electricity and road because he is a youth who is ready to work.

Jatta however urged the youth of Kombo South constituency to set aside all political issues and parties and vote for someone who is capable to be at the national assembly and will sympathize the youth, women and old people without discrimination.
