The Office of the President regrets to announce the tragic death of H.E Dawda Fadera, the Gambian Ambassador to the United States of America until his demise. Following an illness, Dawda passed away at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul earlier today.
H.E Fadera was the Permanent Secretary at the Personnel Management Office (PMO), where he directed and facilitated civil service recruitment, placement, and capacity development, workforce budgeting, promotions, discipline, institutional development, and reform programs at both the policy and operational levels.
He was Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service before he was appointed Ambassador. He was the Board Chair of the National Records Services and Management Development Institute during his term in the Gambia’s administration, as well as the contact person for the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation (CFTC), on interventions in the public sector.
As a long-serving civil servant, many hailed him for his dedication to the service of the country.
The President, on behalf of the government and the First Family of The Gambia, extends condolences to the late Dawda’s family and the entire country.
May Allah bestow upon him the highest place in Jannah.
