EU’s election observation team dispatched to Gambia headed by Norbert Neuser , former member of European Parliament has tailored out some of the areas which are identified in their released report on Gambia’s electoral process , this focuses on key issues meant to help Gambia improve her electoral process .
According to the team, The Gambia needs to formulate legal framework such as information and communication act with the view to promoting freedom of expression to be inline with international standard and practices
Speaking on the report, Robert Neuser stated that, the structural deficiencies and procedural gaps noticed requires fundamental reforms which are prerequisite to conducting peaceful, free and fair elections.
He further said , fundamental procedures such as collation of results and transfer and ensuring adequate security is provided to result forms are prerequisite to peaceful and fair election
