Giving Back To The Gambia Charity Foundation  Inc. USA, on Saturday 16 May 2020, donated cooked meals, undergarments, shoes, fruits and Covid-19 disinfectant items to The Gambia’s main psychiatric hospital locally known as Tanka-Tanka.

Giving Back to The Gambia is a registered charity foundation based in New York, USA. It was established by a few Gambian women residing in America on March 21st 2018, in the spirit of giving back to their community while anticipating Allah’s reward. The foundation is engaged in numerous charity works which are all geared towards hoisting the living standards of the people, especially those struggling to make ends meet.

Sadaqatul Jariyah, a sister organization of ‘Giving back to The Gambia,’ is the underground body overseeing all the foundation’s activities in The Gambia.

Since the inception of the foundation in 2018, Giving back to The Gambia has spent over 5 million dalasis assisting Gambians in different sectors ranging from food items, health care, water projects, refurbishment projects amongst others.

Omar Johnson, who spoke on behalf of the psychiatrist  nurses, commended the gesture and thanked Giving Back to The Gambia for their consecutive support and encouraged other charity organizations to emulate them.

Aja Keway Njie, a representative of Giving Back to The Gambia, equally expressed her profound gratitude and thanks, especially to their donors, who have been over the years, aiding their projects.
