Rahma Gambia Limited on Monday handed over approximately 3000 protective face masks to the women vendors at the Brikama Market as part of its support to the fight against the COVID19 pandemic in The Gambia.

The donated personal protective and safety items, which were presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Brikama Area Council, Modou Jonga for onward delivery to the authorities of the biggest market place in the West Coast Region, is part of Rahma Gambia’s effort to give back and stand by the communities we serve in these difficult times.

Speaking at the handing over, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Rahma Gambia Limited, Alasan Gent Ceesay described the gesture as the β€˜company’s responsibility to give back’’.

β€˜β€™We know facemasks are important but not many people can afford it during these challenging times’’, he added, saying that a similar number of masks were donated to various communities in the past.
β€˜β€˜We believe in giving and sharing a lot. We believe in giving back to the community we are doing business with.’’

Mr. Ceesay, a native of Brikama Newtown, said supporting the Brikama market women was done partly to honour the memory of his late mother who used to sell at the said market.

The CEO of Brikama Area Council, Modou Jonga thanked Rahma Gambia Ltd for being the first private sector organization to respond to their face mask drive since its launch in August.

The Chairman of the Brikama Area Council, Sheriffo Sonko also graced the occasion.
