The famous Gambian comedian Aisha Elizabeth Chorr, donated the Red Cross with 140 face mask to help the fight against the virus.

The tik-tok comedian known on social media as Aisha Gambia handed the face masks to  Alasan Senghore, the secretary of the Gambia Red Cross society on Friday.

Aisha in her comic amusement attributing to coronavirus as  “uncle Corona“ says,  the fight against Covid -19 requires a concerted effort in setting the whole world free from its devastating damages.

“If we all come out and join hands to fight ‘uncle corona’ I call it ‘uncle corona ‘ because ‘uncle malaria’ came and did nothing much and other sicknesses  as compared to coronavirus, It has over powered us. So am pleading to all Gambians to come and join hands so that we can fight ‘uncle corona‘ out of our country.”

Mr Senghore, the secretary of the Gambia Red Cross society received the donation with relish, and thanked Aisha for her gesture.

“thank you to Aisha, we are rally grateful for this gesture. Doing this through Red Cross makes your venture goes far because we are not only in the urban area but we have our branches across the country, so with this we will make sure that it reaches farthest in the country so that other people can also have access to what you give even though you are giving some out on the streets of Banjul and Serekunda, but this we will make sure it goes to the provinces so that you become real Gambian.”

Since the outbreak of the virus in the country in March, the Red Cross society has been in the frontline waving its service in the community.

Notwithstanding, many Gambians have also contributed significantly in the fight against the crises.
