In her statement at the launching of The Gambia Maternal Blood Bank Project, First lady Fatoumatta Bah Barrow appealed to all Gambians to support the project by donating blood, especially the husbands, adding the life they save maybe their own.

Organised by Join Hands to Save a Baby, the event was graced by Rohey Malick Lowe Mayoress of Banjul, Minister of Women Children and Social Welfare Hon. Fatou Kinteh, Minister of Youths and Sports Hon

Bakary Badjie, National Assembly Members, Health professionals, The Army, Police, Fire Service, Red Cross, NYC, Women Bureau, VDC’s Councillors and the Media.

Meanwhile, the First Lady participated in a tree planting event jointly organized by DHL, KMC, and Green-Up Gambia at the Banjul- Serrekunda Highway.

The whole initiative is a Green and Clean Street for Healthier Environment with the Theme: Commitment To Action From Tree Planting To Tree Growing.

The occasion was graced by the new UK Ambassador, the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Bakary Badjie, Minister of Women Children and Social Welfare Hon. Fatou   Kinteh and a representative from KMC.
