The Gambia is ranked the 102 out of 180 countries in the 2020 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report published by Transparency International based in Berlin Germany on 28th January 2021. The Gambia dropped from 96th position in the 2019 report. Countries are ranked based on their perceived levels of public sector corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys on a scale from 100 (very clean) to 0 (highly corrupt).  

Denmark is perceived as he least corrupt country in the world whiles South Sudan is alleged to be one of the most corrupt nations in the world due to constant social and economic crises.
