At least 14 people have been arrested in connection with the D15 million stolen from Nawec’s AGIB Bank account a couple of months ago.
According to the police spokesperson Superintendent Lamin Njie, investigation into the alleged larceny is ongoing and perpetrators involved in the fraud will be brought to book.
PRO Njie confirmed that Mercedes Benz and Toyota Camry plus a cash amount D1, 772, 600 have been recovered by the Fraud Investigation Squad.
“The Police investigation into the AGIB-NAWEC case is currently ongoing. So far 14 people have been arrested and helped with investigations, among them Gambians and non Gambians.”
Concluding, he noted that investigation into the matter continues.
