the health centre of Brufut village over the weekend receives in donation some medical equipment at a presentation held on the facility ground. The donation was done by 4everywhere charitable foundation in conjunction with Gambia for you through their local counterpart Yaya Manneh, the proprietor of santosu tours who is also a resident of Brufut.
The items donated include, blood absorbent pads, gloves, syringes, bandages among other valuables.
’4 everywhere charitable foundations’ has been supporting communities and schools for about seven years, with valuable items with the intention to improve the education sector as well as the livelihood of the people of various communities.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Lamin Basse, the youth representative at the VDC applauded the gesture and described the facilitator of this intervention as a true son of the community. He added that the facilitator of the gesture has been spotted out as an individual who stood firm to making sure that development interventions are brought into the community for it holistic development. He assured the donors of their preparedness to ensure the donated items are put into good use and serve its intended purpose for the greater good of the larger community.
Momodou Jallow the public Relation Office (PRO) to the brufut ward development committee(VDC) added this voice by stating that, the community has recognised the role played by the donor in helping the community with development . He added that this is a step in a right direction and he added that about 70,0000 people reside in the community of Brufut also feeder communities such as Madiana, Ba Nyaka and others have been equally benefiting from the only health facility and he stated this gesture will help the facility in the day to day patient management. He urged the sons and daughters of Brufut especially those in Diaspora to continue supporting the community more significantly the health facility with the view of complimenting the government’s efforts in providing health care delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the donating charitable organizations, Yaya Manneh the facilitator of the noble gesture, has assured the community of his continuous interventions and indicated that their community has contributed so much to their personal development and he mentioned that it’s a payback time to the community that has offered them so much. He concluded by renewing his promise for most needed support for the community in the offing.
Receiving the items on behalf of the officer in charge of the facility, Ebriama Njie has thanked the members of the community for such laudable gesture and assured the donors of their commitment to duty as well as promised good keep of the items and usage in the right direction.
However, other speakers at the occasion outlined the difficulty currently faced by the facility which includes lack of spacious maternity room, lack of hemocue machines to facilitate checking blood content as well as the blood related illnesses among other issues which undermines the performance of the centre. The speakers call for the intervention of well wishers of
the community to intervene in addressing the outlined social problems for the efficient delivery of service at the facility.
Other speakers includes, Lamin Nya Nya Manneh a member of santosu community development association’s advisory board, Ablie Manneh treasurer VDC and the occasion was attended by the cross section of the community of Brufut and its environs.
