The ward councillor of kembujeh ward, Honorable Alieu K Darboe urges other nationalities residing in the country to stay away from Gambian politics. He added that, unconfirmed information emerges in social media purportedly stating that some non Gambian are sighted within other regions of the country preparing to acquire the country’s national documents to take part in the forthcoming national elections.

He further added that the domestic politics of this country should be played only by the citizens of the state, not otherwise. The ward councillor who wears the hat of United Democratic Party (UDP) stated that Gambian has an open door policy for foreign nationals residing in The Gambia but he was quick to add that, the politics of this state is no go zone for them.

He urges all the political parties in  the  country to check their membership base to ensure green light is not granted to foreign nationals to participate in the domestic politics. He mentioned that if the politicians give deaf ears to this could create conflict among citizens of the country which may compromise the integrity of the country and national security.

He concluded by saying that he  is going to set up a task force within his ward to ensure people that will appear to request for the national voter cards are all Gambians and he urges others to emulate the same practice .
