Considering the recent height o f banditry in the country which is manifested in the form of killing, rape and burglary thereby causing state of fear among the communities.

Speaking to Kairaba News Network, Omar Jack, a member of pan African youth movement urges the government of the Gambia to consider the security personnel by assisting them with the right equipment to beef up their fight against criminals. He went further to say that, if the government of the Gambia doesn’t provide the security with the right equipment, the criminals will always have an edge over them.

He added that the country’s securities are tirelessly working to ensure that criminals are cleansed off the society which can restore the peaceful atmosphere our Gambian societies are known for. He challenged the government of the Gambia to tackle the issue of Gambia being a transit point to drug peddlers which compromised the security of the country to greater extent.

He went further to advise the drug and law enforcement agency personnel to speed up efforts to clamp down on the drug users which he believed has a direct link to the increase of crime in the country.
