The Presidential aspirant for the People’s Alliance Party (PAP), Ebrima Manneh vows to create five Gambian millionaires annually if he is elected into office in the upcoming presidential election. Mr. Manneh made these remarks during an exclusive interview with Give Thanks TV at his residence in Banjul over the weekend.
Mr. Manneh who is optimistic of completing his party registration process next week said the reasons why he is contesting for presidency is due to “bad leadership”in the country and he thinks the country needed a radical formation for growth and sustainable development.
“If I become president, I will create five (5) Gambian millionaires annually and a total of twenty-five (25) in five years purposely forcing Gambians to take charge of their country,” Ebrima Manneh said.
Ebrima Manneh is one of the sons of the former Lower Niumi Chief Alhagie Tabora Manneh, he said if Gambians fails to take charge of the country’s economy in the next five years, citizens will risk of losing everything to foreigners saying the country is at a crossing point.
“The country is generally getting twenty-five millions revenue annually. However, If I become president, I will increase the country’s gain twice over the current revenue because there are a lot of loopholes in our budgetary formation,” the presidential aspirant said.
Manneh who is also an accountant said he is not contesting for presidency because of money rather he is indulging into politics due to the love he has for the country and nothing more.
“My government will invest in the productive sector, specifically the agricultural sector, by providing three hundred (300) tractors to the farmers yearly,” he said.
However, Manneh emphasized the need for leaders to be honest and straightforward if they want to be serious in tackling corruption, adding his administration will encourage asset declarations for executive positions before anyone assumes them.
The Kairaba News Network will bring you more updates on this story by further asking the presidential candidate questions about how he intends to do that.
