As part of their effort to contribute their quota towards the fight against Covid-19, Make3D company limited with the support of EU through The Gambia Youth Empowerment Project, YEP on Wednesday 20th May 2020, donated 100 3D printed face shields to the Ministry of Health.
The face shields were produced in partnership with Mbolo Association in Tujereng, says, Fatou Juka Darboe.
Make3D is The Gambia’s first and only commercial 3D printing company. Few weeks ago, they started a collaboration with Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine to produce and test 3D printed protective gear, laboratory and medical equipment as part of The Gambia’s COVID-19 response.
3D printing is an innovative technology of manufacturing that allows rapid response to the market needs, production on demand and effective customization action of products.
