The Gambia’s health ministry has announced the confirmation of 20 new cases of covid-19.
8 of which are health care workers from the country’s main referral hospital (EFSTH), medicare clinic and a WHO official, with one death recorded.
This is the highest number of confirmed cases reported in a single day following the last 15 cases announced on Monday.
The latest update brings the number of cases to a total of 132 since march. There are 64 active cases and 5 probable cases while 3 have been discharged with 5 deaths respectively.
Meanwhile, 13 people are taken into quarantine bringing the total number to 639.
Amongst the two people who absconded, one has been found and is undergoing treatment.
