As the rumours hit the wave of the social media about non Gambians being spotted around areas alleged of making chances of being issued with the Alkalo’s attestation which sparked public outrage and debate.

Speaking to this medium, the acting PRO presidential Barrow beyond 2021, Sulayman Saidy alias Master  indicated that the tune of the Gambian politics must be dance by Gambians only not other nationalities.

He added that, so long as the person has acquired prescribed documents required by the independent electoral commission (IEC) the person should be allowed to register for the elections, he advised that, surnames should not prompt one to conclude that a particular individual is a non Gambian and should not be issued the voters card. He added that no political party has the right to stop any person from being registered and cannot determine who is Gambian or non Gambian.

He urged the due process be followed, should any complain emanates from the process, one can follow the legal procedure through a reviewing court which is followed upon completion of this process.  He frowns that Gambia has been facing such process of voter registration but express concern over the chaotic nature which accompany the 2021’s voter registration. He added that, the Gambia has a new democracy which must be jealously guided and he urged everyone to be mindful of violating each other’s rights.
