Buba Drammeh, a remanded prisoner who was accused of murder during the Berending-Gunjur land dispute, has reportedly break loose from Mile 2 Central Prison, a senior prison officer confirmed.

The alleged murderer who was arraigned in October, denied all charges against him and was subsequently remanded unsettling the upshot of the trial. The incident happened in 2019, over a land dispute between the natives Berending and Gunjur.

According to prison officials, swift investigations are underway to get to the root of the matter  “I can confirm only that much so far because investigation is ongoing,” our source said.

Another source disclosed that there are suggestions that Drammeh escaped with the help of an insider. He added that the prison administration is conducting rigorous investigation to establish how he actually escaped the prison because there was no prison-break.
