Alhagie Seedy Muctarr Jaiteh, the prominent Imam Ratib of Njaba-Kunda village in the North Bank Region (NBR) has joined the famous anti- GSIC Rawdatul Majaalis’s denouncement of the GSIC’s new executive committee.

Alhagie Seedy Muctarr Jaiteh, a respected religious personality in the NBR made this comment before our reporter blaming President Adama Barrow’s government for allowing few people within GSIC to closely conduct congress and election.

He said that, GSIC under Imam Touray’s over-stay in power has totally disqualified them (Imam Touray and his executive) from organizing congress and election for new executive members to take-over the reign of the council on behalf of the entire Muslim Ummah in the country.

To Imam Jaiteh, Barrow Government disregard Majlis Sects in the country adding: “Majlis Sects played a big role for him (Barrow) to succeed former President Jammeh”.

“Nobody can change our loyalty to Sheriff Sanusi Nano Hyhara as our leader. It is him we are seeing and it is him we will continue to follow unless Imams and Majlis Sects participate in GSIC congress/election based on transparency and fair play,” Imam Jaiteh lamented.

He added that, whether President Adama Barrow’s Government recognizes them or not they will continue to function as an Islamic organization in order to promote and propagate Islamic religion based on the teachings of Islam.

He further added that, they Rawdatul Majaalis informed the GSIC about the formation of their organization.

“When we formed our organization we wrote to GSIC under Imam Touray and his former team. But their respond was: “Who are you people? We still did not give-up and we wrote a letter to them to explain who we are, our objectives, aims among others,” Imam Jaiteh explained.

Imam Jaiteh clearly stated that, the Barrow Government is supporting them (GSIC) while pretending that he is with us (Rawdatul Majaalis).
