The president of the republic of The Gambia, his excellency Adama Barrow, in a meeting held at Brikama-Ba, Central River Region as part of his ongoing ’meet the people tour‘, accused the mainstream media of slanting especially in issues relating to his government’s development programmes and projects.
“We know that some of these people are activists but masquerading as newspapers to disseminate their news. But I want to tell them that this government does not need any favors from them but the least we expect is that they should also inform Gambians with accurate information about the ongoing works we are doing. Borrow noted.
“A good citizen must love his or her country and do everything to defend it and that is the direction expected from all of us,” He added.
He said it was as a result of minimal attention to his government’s development programmes and projects that the Barrow Media Empowerment, National People’s Party TV and NPP Bantaba Kacha outlets to keep the masses updated with reliable, accurate and timely information as far his government’s policies and ongoing programmes are concerned.
