As the local council authorities are sub political division and they are mandated to plough back a certain percentage of  their revenue to the communities under their jurisdiction.

The Brikama Area Council (BAC) under the leadership of sheriffo Sonko as the council’s chairman,  has started some multi million dalasi social projects aimed at improving services within communities under the council.

Speaking to kairaba news network, the public Relation Officer of the council, Lamin Singhateh, has highlighted the significance of providing most needed services to their tax payers, he revealed  that the council is currently implementing 15 million dalasi road infrastructure projects within the  vicinity of Brikama which he believed is timely and will improve communication within its  residents and feeder communities.

He further stated that the council is also committed to drill two boreholes to help access drinkable water  which will cost the council  about Millions of dalasi ,  to the communities of Wassadu and Bantanjang all in foni which is rendered as per the regulation of GPPA.

He added that, almost 88 stalls construction is about to commence at the  Brikama market as part of their efforts to meet the increasing demand for stalls by vendors , according to him this project is to be implemented by Gam works Agency where the  council is expected to  commit about D1.8 Million as counterpart contribution.

The PRO of the council, Lamin Sighateh stated that, its core on them to deliver services to their tax payers, he added that Brikama Area Council is a responsive institution in terms of service delivery  and it will never shy away from its responsibilities to provide social services to the larger communities.
