A British Gambian Charity, Supporting
People Of Tomorrow (SPOT)on Saturday February 26, 2022 handed over a newly dug borehole to the community of Brikama Wellingara at a ceremony held at the community clinic.
During the Opening the borehole, Honorable Alieu K Darboe, Councilor Kembujeh Ward thanked the donors for their gesture saying supporting a health facility with a clean drinking water would only promote good health.

He further stated that the community would also benefit from the gesture as another tap head has been extended outside for residents to benefit from.
” Apart from that, the clinic is just close to the cemetery and people always attend burials, and providing water within the vicinity would make it easier for the community to access clean water after the burial rites,” He said
He concluded that there could be no meaningful development in the absence of water, appealing to the donors to consider some remote areas in the ward as well as to support the poor and needy including needy as it is part of their operation and TOR.

Alkalo of the village Samba Bah in appreciating his joy towards the gesture noted that this is what every reputable institution operates by supporting the ones who are in dare need of a support.
This borehole, he continued that it would be protected by everyone as we have been looking for such since the opening of the clinic.

“As the village head, I would always work with SPOT and other agencies in supporting my people”,he said
Kumba Mbureh Sowe, a women leader described the donation as genuine, timely, and above all humanitarian as it would reduce the burden of women in fetching water from far distances.
Adama Sanyang, a resident who also doubles as a senior Fire Brigade said they are very happy to have the borehole at the village clinic. It will help us as women than anyone else she remarked.

Saikou Jatta, liasion officer of the charity told the gathering that their main aim is to work with communities and support them with anything they can ranging from boreholes, mosques, schools, orphans, and other humanitarian aids.
