GPA wish to clarify that

the transit truck that was involved in a fatal accident at Tallinding on Friday 15th April, 2022 was loaded with 44 tons while the ECOWAS limit is 55 tons for such transit trucks.

GCCI may be contacted for clarification as the  custodian of the transit trade in the Gambia.

Meanwhile, GPA had launched a procurement process for the replacement of the weighbridge within the Port, as this equipment is aged and out of production line; thus making the repairs challenging. The acquisition is for an electronic weighbridge for both axle load and dead weight.
