The Community Policing Unit has commenced a nationwide training for CP Coordinators across the country. The training activities started in the NBR where the training was conducted at Barra Lower Nuimi.

The objective of this training is to equip community members with the requisite knowledge and skills to be able to effectively partner with the police in ensuring security and safety within communities.

Participants were drawn from members of communities including key community leaders, women, youth and other relevant stakeholders.

Modules in Human Rights and Policing, Democratic Policing, Community Based were extensively covered during the training. Simulation exercises were also conducted. The Community Policing Coordinators are trained to put into action Community Policing.

The team also had engagement with key community leaders to generate understanding on Community Policing and methods of working with Community Policing Coordinators. CSP Lamin Jaiteh Officer Commanding the CP Unit is leading the team.
