As two new confirmed covid-19 cases are being recorded on the of 4 July 2020, the total number of active cases in The Gambia sums up to 28 respectively.

The Gambia has confirmed 57 cases of the novel covid-19 with an improving recovery of 27 people and two reported deaths so far.

As cases continue to increase rapidly, the government of The Gambia  has however, relieved most of the the restrictive measures placed toward mitigating and curbing the further spread of Covid-19 on 04 June, 2020.

In vein to this, many people still have doubts on the existence of the virus in The Gambia.

The humongous crowd in one of the biggest markets in The Gambia, Serrekunda, people boarding vehicles filled up to capacity, hundreds gathering at ceremonies and social activities amongst few, shows utter signs that the Gambians are not adhering to the measures given by the Ministry of Health toward controlling the spread of the virus.

The coronavirus since it’s emergence has left many in despair as it has impacted the lives and livelihoods of people in the country and beyond.
