Executive members of the Gambia Action Party, denies allegations of circulating it’s presidential candidate’s nude video.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hon. Bojang convened a press conference at his residence at Brufut. He alleged that some senior members from his political party, are responsible for circulating the purported nude video online.

However, the Public Relations Director of the party Mr. Abubakar Bayo, vehemently denied these allegations, and said, the matter could have been resolved internally as a party.

“The Gambia action party has been put into the right footings and nobody can try to defame this particular institution, nobody can bring this institution down to nothing. We always try to seek  the interest of our people first which is Gambia. If at all what is said is true, we will also dig into the matter but first of all, it’s wrong for him (Lamin Bojang) to go out there to say all these allegations against us.” Bayo lamented.

The Press Secretary of The Gambia Action Party Sheikhana Faal, expressed his disappointment with Bojang’s action describing it as unprofessional and unethical. He said, as the Press Secretary of the party, he was not aware that a press conference was called to address this particular issue.

“These accusations are baseless and I am disappointed with Bojang himself for making such outrageous accusations. Actually I cannot say on behalf of everyone but what I can say on my behalf is, I had this video since last week Tuesday but Allah knows best. I have not shared it with anyone because of the magnitude of it.” He explained.

The party through a written letter, confirmed that Hon. Bojang has been expelled from The Gambia Action Party effective 15 July 2020. He is therefore,  no longer the presidential candidate or flag bearer of the aforementioned party.
