Omar Sonko, a Gambia-American in Atlanta Georgia US, was reportedly shot dead by suspected arm rubbers on 6th January 2021. According to witnesses, Sonko was coming from the voting center in the ongoing senate election in the states when armed men approached him, shot him and took his belongings including car and Mobile phone.

He was a promising music star and entrepreneur by the time of his death.
