The aspiring presidential candidate for Gambia Action Party (GAP) Mr. Lamin Bojang, on Tuesday 13 July 2020, convened a press conference to address a recent video of him making rounds on social media that could potentially end his political career.

Mr. Bojang became the face of the spotlight following a nude video of him circulating online making him the first presidential candidate involved in such scandals.

Mr. Bojang however remains resolute, saying  he is stronger than before and will eventually come out of the storm. He affirmed that no one can forcefully make him resign from politics.

“I am going through it with you people who trust in me and Wollahi today I am stronger because of you, my spirit is more rekindled and there is no way that somebody can force me to resign from politics,” he said.

The retired army and former diplomat thanked his beloved wife, family and friends for believing and standing by him in this difficult time.

“When this incident happened, I lived with a family, I lived with a woman and I lived with my parents. Most times when these type of things happen, the first person that is severely affected, that could even be an understatement, is your spouse and I want to on-camera thank my wife for her understanding and her cooperation. And also through her, thank her family for the support that they have given me all throughout, from last week to date.” He concluded.
