The national assembly member for Niamina East Omar Ceesay, has joined the crusade of Gambians from all walks of life condemning the utterance emitted by the president recently at the state House in Banjul whilst in convergence with the former members of the parliament  as well as governors of the past regime.

Reacting on his Facebook page, the young parliamentarian blasted the president for  his statement which many described  threatening to national security as he preferred death to shame for losing the December 4th presidential pool.

He stated that such a statement is deleterious considering the critical political atmosphere of the country. He stated that the citizenry would expect well guided utterances from all the political actors of the country including  the president of the Republic  who shoulder his own place in the political party NPP. He added that he would have preferred debate to be sparked around party ideologies  meant to canvass votes from the electorates than such savage utterances from the occupier of the highest national office of the country.

“The guided language of politics should be based on the competition of ideas and ideologies and not a competition of miserable and deplorable comments.” he queried

Honorable Cessay urged the president to immediately withdraw such a statement as it has weight to incite violence as we are in an election year.
