The leader of the Gambia Democratic Party (GMC) Mai Fatty on the  27th November announced in a press briefing held at his residence in Kotu that he will contest the December presidential race under GMC ticket.

He stated that, GMC only looks at GMC, he added that,  GMC is not backing any political party in this race as they are  heading to polls under their ticket .

He revealed that they made this decision as an independent and sovereign political entity as well as in the interest of national development.

It could be recalled that GMC is among the lot political parties which were rejected by IEC after nomination. I 

However, they filed a case against IEC  at the court of law which they eventually won over IEC.
