One of the country’s newest  independent opposition  presidential candidates Alagie Mamadi Kurang is currently on a nationwide tour.  The tour is meant to familiarise himself with the electorates especially those who live in disadvantaged communities also to sell out his intention to contest in the presidential race of December 4th among other issues.

Mr. Kurang is currently in Wuli in the Upper River Region, he has visited Kantora, Tumana and other areas. According to Mr kurang, he is interacting with the inhabitants  which includes young people, women and children of the communities within the region. He added that what appears to be a problem and peculiar among the residents is poverty  which has overtaken the people of the communities as a result of poor governance.

He promised to place governance in the right position by ensuring areas such as health, education and economy  are treated with utmost seriousness with the view to produce a better output to meet the needs of the citizens. He further added that those areas need to  be treated seriously by any serious government as they are key fundamental areas to command the overall development of a nation. He promised to do well in these sectors as they are key elements to nation building.

Mr. Kurang is one of the young politicians who is challenging the old generation of politicians to leave the platform to the young once to peddle the boat of politics to the direction to where it’s aspired to go and he said eventually this will lead to development.
