As part of his political promises, an American base Gambian Kalilu Camara, who recently ticked his name in the list of the country’s presidential candidates, has mentioned that, when he comes into power he will increase the salaries of the securities wings of the country to an enviable scale. He added that the current security situation of the country is too fragile, and that the security needs all sorts of motivation to stand up against these criminal practices hitting the country.

He added that the role of both the police and the army should be increased to meet the increased demand of the current security concerns in the country. He urged the high command of the Gambia armed forces to recruit more soldiers and deploy them   to strategic positions within the country, especially the city to fight crime.
