In their quest to recover the forest cover and discourage deforestation in the country and their village in particular, The “Kutehjobulu” youth association in Jah Kunda Village in Wuli West, embarked on a massive tree planting exercise to deepen the forest with trees and recover their forest cover.

The tree planting exercise was sponsored by the president of ‘Forest Users’ Association Of The Gambia’ Lamin Barrow, who provided 600 seedlings to the youth association.

The governor of URR, Mr. Samba, applauded the initiative and encouraged the youth association whose primary goal is to restore the forest cover of the village, to keep up the great work. Mr. Bah added that the government of The Gambia has a policy that is aimed to make the entire country green and he is happy to see the youth of his constituency working the talk.

The Chairperson of the Forest Users’ Association Of The Gambia’ Lamin Barrow, expressed gratitude to the ’Kutehjonbulu’ youth association for taking part in restoring the cover of their forest. Other speakers, including the village development community chairperson, expressed similar sentiments and encouraged other youth associations/ organisations to emulate them.
