As part of the preparation ahead of the 2021 presidential race, People Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) unveiled that their congress will be held from the 6th to the 7th of March at Penchi Mi Hall respectively.

PDOIS has been part of the political struggle of The Gambia since its formation in 1986 to date, since then their focus has been to see Gambia which is self dependent and economically viable as well respect human dignity among host of other things.

Kexx Sanneh one of the party members on social media, stated that the 54 years of Gambia’s existence, no enviable development has been registered in this country; equally poverty has been striking the citizens which got deep rooted, courtesy of weak governance systems structured to impel the government machinery for the holistic development of this nation, this he stated has undermined the speed of the wheel of development of this country from independence to date.

He emphatically outlined that, at their congress PDOIS will share what they referred to as their transformative agenda; this according to him has potential to reshape the country’s image to   an enviable look which stands unchallengeable and will be widely embraced by all Gambian due to its effectiveness. He added that, these transformative agenda of PDOIS party expect to qualitatively address all sectors of life; these include Agriculture, health, youth employment, economy amongst host of other social programmes.

He challenged Gambian electorates to vote base on competency of the candidates who has the potential to serve the interest of the country and can desist from entrenching on citizens, he stated that once choice of vote should not be influence by friendly relationship or family line, according to him this line of thinking has greatly undermine the political development of this country which needs to repositioning to new route for better Gambia.
