Two personnel of the Gallant Armed forces of the Gambia (GAF) namely Captain Modou Nyang  a staff officer under GAF  operations specialised in explosive   and  staff sergeant Bojang Muniru of infantry battalion in Kanilai have returned to the country after intensive two months long training in Egypt.  These personnel received training in Explosive Ordnance Device (EOD) and post blast analysis and it was conducted at the Egyptian police academy.

According to sources, the training the duo received includes, making explosive charges and emplacement, demolition of military ammunition and Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) using the disruption methods.  Our source further stated that the training has equipped the trainees with skills such as bomb disposal techniques, crime scene investigation, dealing with suicide bombings and its related activities in any given situation.
