The presidential adviser on religious affairs Mr. Dembo Bojang, says, despite people scraping fortunes from President Adama Barrow’s pocket, he had never, even for once, benefited from such monetary gifts from him.

Mr. Dembo by Force revealed that President Barrow has been financially assisting people, sometimes he gives half a million dalasi to people to renovate their damaged houses among others but he had never extended such magnanimity to him because he never begged him. He added that, Barrow’s gift to him in terms of finance, never exceeded D10,000

“I never begged [President] Adama for money. Instead, I introduced people to him, to whom, he would give up to D500,000 for them to repair their houses, by Allah. I helped people but I never begged him money,” Bojang told the Barrow Media Group.

The Bakau resident described president Barrow as a ‘magnanimous’ President whose generosity knows no bounds. He said, when he was an executive member of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Barrow was one of the people who made sure some members of the party including himself were not financially bankrupt.

“UDP never gave me a dalasi for 22 years. We were without salaries for 22 years. Nobody ever gave me a bag of rice and it was Adama who used to send Amadou Sanneh to me (financial aid). I have sold three plots of land my children should’ve inherited all because of the UDP,” Bojang divulged.

He further stated that UDP betrayed him for refusing to endorse the presidency of Adama Barrow “UDP has betrayed me because when we elected Barrow, they refused to endorse him. If we are able to wrestle down Jammeh and people able to breathe now, I think that is enough relief for everyone and it should not be abused,” he lamented.

He argued that UDP is not a private entity and denied Barrow forming his own political party to contest for the upcoming presidential election slated for 2021. “It’s the good people who formed the NPP and not Adama and we will name the flag-bearer, leader and secretary general at the appropriate time,” he concluded.
