SADAQATUL JARIYAH FOUNDATION (SJFC): Donates Food Items to Needy Gambian Families
Sadaqatul Jariyah Foundation, an Islamic organization, on Saturday 25 April 2020, donated 23 food packages to needy Gambian families.
In this trying moments, charitable organizations are in the quest to help needy families in order to ease their burden during the holy month of Ramadan.
The foundation was launched a couple of years ago with the intention of giving back to the community, by helping needy Gambians establish their own businesses to earn a living. The aim of the foundation is to provide a sustainable income which has succeeded through collaborations.
The founder of the foundation, Mrs Isatou Sarr Ceesay, expressed her utmost gratitude to The Almighty Allah, she appreciates the donors both in Gambia and the diaspora for always supporting their projects.
She stated that, without their genuine support both financially and morally, their projects would have failed woefully. She calls on Gambians to engage in charity works for there are many, struggling daily to make ends meet.
Aja Keway Njie Lette, a strong pillar of the foundation, thanked the donors for their continuous support, and those who were identified to benefit from the SJFC annual Ramadan food packages. Although it is a young foundation, but because of it’s consistency and sense of purpose, it is able to touch the lives of many within a short period.
Mrs. Njie-Lette, believes that it’s not only the responsibility of the organizations, but citizens as well.
The Vice President of the foundation Khadijah Dampha, evinced a similar comment.
To her, Ramadan is a month of forgiveness, and giving alms, since there are families who live from hand to mouth, it is incumbent on every Gambian who is financially stable, to extend a helping hand to the poor and make their Ramadan a memorable one.
