Alkalo of Jifanga village in foni Bintang Karanai Districy Modou Gibba said, there is calm in the area which is not far from the border , he stated that one man from his village  have gone into bush to fend Cattle  but never return home .

He explained that , he landed on the information of the missing man been arrested by the Senegalse soldiers  who were on patrol in Cassamance region at the peak of the tension.

“This man has not still reunite with his family and we have information that he is being held at the Senegalese Soldiers camp in Casamance,” Alkalo Gibba told the media.

Jifanga alkalo further stated that during the fight that began in January 2022. His village has hosted five (5) families which were refugees from Casamance quickly adding that the families have now returned to their villages in casamance said the alkalo.

Jifanga is among the twenty villages along the borderline in the fonis that were covered by the media and the Gambia Arm forces patrol team in Foni under the Command of Leautnant Colonel Omar Bojang, with his men who were armed to the teeth, most of whom have undergoing Komando training in Tokyo, and currently providing security and safety for the Gambians  living around the Casamance Border.
