Musa Trawally a native of Sarr Pirasu in the Upper River Region (URR) who walked from Basse to Banjul after spending nine days (9) to meet Elect President Adama Barrow at the State House as part of his celebration. 

Musa Trawally is a thirty-nine year old Gambian (39) who said his love for Elect President Adama Barrow gave him the hope to walk from Basse to Banjul. “I promised myself during the election campaign that when president Barrow wins the election, I will walk from Basse to Banjul to celebrate his victory,” Musa Trawally told reporters as he arrived at the State House. 

According to him, the love he has for Elect President Barrow keeps him motivated during a week-long walk he took from his home in Basse. “I am very happy that today I’m fulfilling my promise,” he said. He said president Barrow has done tremendous work for the country especially in the Upper River Region (URR). 

The distance from Banjul to Basse is 373 kilometers with an estimated driving hours of 6hrs 50min according to the road map. However, he said he is proud to walk for three hundred and seventy-three (373km) kilometers to meet elect president Adama Barrow. 

President Elect Adama Barrow welcomes Musa at the State House. Speaking at the State House, Barrow expressed appreciation as he received Musa. “I am very glad to welcome you today. You have indeed shown the love you have for the country. This day is new to the entire Gambian people and it will remain in history,” Barrow said. 

Musa was accompanied by his family members at the State House who described him as an honest man.
