Six youth of Foni Bintang Karanai, Jaking Village on Tuesday around 2pm, were affected by gun firing bullets of which landed on Jaking village in Foni Bintang Karanai and were admitted to Ndemban clinic in Bakau.

Speaking to the media , Yusupha Sarr  a native of jaking village, also a victim while explaining incident said “We haven’t seen the bullets actually, we just heard the sound in the air, and so how it  scattered that is when it touches me at my back”

Sallimata Jarju a parent to the youth affected by the bullets said “These youths are our children this incident took place around 2pm, as the children went to the bush in search of firewood when they were returning home that is when they were affected by the bullets, I called them for lunch and they told me that they close to home and I saw them coming”

Jarju said she sat under a mango tree that was when she heard sound and was wondering where the Loud sound was coming from and was quick to check the children and saw them running individually by themselves home without the help of anyone, so I said perhaps the bullets hasn’t touched them.

Jarju was quick to add that the children were running towards Gambia and not casamance end, she continued that since the incident took place it was the people of the community who came after hearing the news before government officials will arrive and  she claimed to have given  the report to the Alkali of the village and who in turned called the soldiers in Kanilai.

“If you see we rushed  to the hospital, before the soldiers from Kanilai arrive, it’s I called them for lunch and they told me that they close to home and I saw them coming because the bullet has disturbed them and blood coming out of them then we took a vehicle to sibanoor hospital then we were preceded to Bwiam then the authorities said we should proceed to Ndemban Clinic” she narrated.

She added that , the situation left them in the state displeasure as they were contemplating as to who must have discharged the gun between Gambians and Senegalese.
