THE ASSOCIATION OF GAMBIANS IN SOUTH KOREA: Gives Aid To The Needy

The Association of Gambians in South Korea under the chairmanship of Yusuf Tunkara, on Wednesday 6 May 2020 donated 45 food packages to the needy amid covid—19 pandemic.

Since inception in 2016, the association had been responsive to natural calamities, and the calls of the Gambian populace.

“our association focuses on uniting Gambians, bringing them together under one umbrella by helping them through kind or cash,” said Yusuf Tunkara, the chairman of the association.

The association has been vibrant since inception, but this is the first of it’s kind coming public.

Consequently, the nature of the novel coronavirus calls for constant, and relentless action.

Abubacarr Colley , a beneficiary said, he is incredibly happy seeing Gambians giving back to their brothers and sisters.

”I am very much pleased that Gambians abroad are acting uniformly in the wake of the pandemic by giving back to the society.”

Rohey Faal, also a beneficiary, expressed her indebted gratitude to the kind gesture by the association.

Having seen the spread of coronavirus in the Gambia with a total number of 17 cases as of now, it has erupted a massive  impact in the economy and other sectors in the country that prompted pul philanthropist to extend their benevolent support to the less privileged. Although it could be seen as a supplement to the efforts of the government.

Many have the believe that, publicly giving out a helping hand in a form of charity is a total show off. But on the contrary, most do it to awaken or motivate others.
