The University of The Gambia Students’ Union (UTGSU), through support from the UTG Management, on Sunday 26th December, 2021, left the shores of The Gambia to honor an invitation from AIESAC Senegal.

A twenty-three students’ leader delegation went to Dakar, Senegal to attend the National Training and Motivation Seminar (NTMS) 2021. The NTMS is an annual event organised by AIESAC, an organization driven by a motive to promote the SDGs and help young leaders fulfill their potential.

Among the delegates are: executive members of the Students’ Union, UTGSU Legislative Body, UTGSU Judicial Tribunal, and representatives of each faculty based sub-associations. The delegates were trained on requisite thematic  areas in the quest to develop their leadership capacities. These thematic areas were: personal branding, effective leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management, social media usage, buyer persona, managerial skills and entrepreneurship, among others.

The UTGSU delegation returned back home on 30th December, 2021. The UTGSU delightfully extends its appreciation to the University management for the financial service rendered. The training, as affirmed by the delegates was not only impactful and educative, but as well shaped and consolidated their experience and network.

According to Aimand Lowe,  the UTG student union’s Information Minister , said ” While they  remain staunch to advancing the welfare and spearheading the development of The Gambia, we to this end, exhort the UTGSU delegation to take advantage of the knowledge and experience garnered positively”
