A charitable organization based in Gambia improvised locally made mensural pads to reduce the burden of getting the modern type . Reports indicated that , the need for the provision of modern made pads is clouded with so much frustration for the low income earners .

Madam fatou bah, The representative and chairperson of EBOU MALA’s children charitable foundation(EMCCF) in her statement said (EMCCF) is a Gambian registered charitable foundation, which was established in 2017 and there aim is to compliment the efforts of the government and other existing charitable foundations and NGOs and organizations to support the development of this country, through skills training projects.

The charity also helps to improve health care services by providing medical equipment to health centers, also provides learning materials to schools to promote education

Further more she expresses how proud she is to say that, since they registered this foundation their support has reached to all the 6th regions of the country in different forms and capacities irrespective of distance or location .

Continuing ,she speaks on the reusable sanitary pad project, she said the project is aimed to help women and young girls to end period poverty. She said she personally thinks this project is timely to entangle some of the global concerns that we all have responsibilities to address together to achieve the UN sustainable development goals 2030. She hopes the students that are being enrolled to be part of the project will find this opportunity beneficial to in turn use skills acquired to train more students in other sustain the pad project.

Finally speaks on how important partnership is in everything that one does which aimed at achieving a sustainable outcome for the continuity and sustainability of this project .
She urged all relevant government ministries, charitable organizations to join them in creating a solution to period poverty.

Madam Marian Chairperson of national police aid charity in her remarks said , their charitable works a lot in African countries. She added that , girls do missed a lot in their education compared to their male counterparts in school regarding mensuration . She continued to say that , sanitary pads are either expensive or inaccessible to women and girls , this she said , compelled the charity to design locally made pads from fabrics through locally tap skill. She thanked all the volunteers who help in the designed of these pads .

Mr Bakary B Darboe manager of community service speaks on behalf of the Lord Mayor of kanifing municipal council , Expresses how happy they to be associated with this initiative, he says it’s a timely project which will go a long way in helping or addressing the issue of mensural pad . He also buttressed on the environment challenges caused through the use of pads among other things .

He promised that , reusable pads will be very much cost effective and environmental friendly .
